New Years 2018

I don't really make new years resolutions, simply because when I want to change something I don't need an excuse to change it. Sure, there are a few things I want to do this year - find a house to rent, do my honours project, visit a few more places.... but I was planning on doing those things anyway.

I spent new years eve with Rhi and her family. I promised her that I would spend new years with her this year, since I wasn't able to see her on Christmas again. We are yet to spend a Christmas together, but we have a whole lifetime to do that.

We travelled to Coronet Bay to see the early fireworks. Before the sun set, I took some really lovely photos.



I was finally able to test out my camera's 'firework' setting...




...They turned out pretty awesome actually. 

We cracked some glow sticks, lit some sparklers, drank fancy grape juice, and watched the Melbourne fireworks at midnight on TV.

It was a lovely night. A good ending to a very interesting year.

How many years has it been?!

Hello to anyone reading! It's been what... 3... 4 years? Where have I been? Well - the same place I was last, geographically speaking. I love life out in the country. I don't really miss the beach, although it's good to visit sometimes.  So... I'm disabled. I probably wouldn't have identified myself as disabled 4 years ago, but due to my severe symptoms, the term is fitting now. I'm disabled and proud to be. Being disabled is not something to be ashamed of.  I still live with fibromyalgia but have now also been diagnosed with POTS - Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. I've probably had POTS longer than fibromyalgia. I believe fibromyalgia actually began later for me. I had been previously misdiagnosed with pre-diabetes, which didn't make much sense at the time. Our Lovely Living Situation

We live in such a lovely place. The longer we're here, the more we love it. It's so nice living here - just the two of us. Bushfield is a cute little town. We are surrounded by farmland and wildlife. We are visited by lorikeets daily. It was so funny when they found out we were the ones putting the bird seed in the tree! They wouldn't stop squawking, like we had blown their little bird minds. We also have possums that visit every night. One of the possums ate all of the bird seed recently, so we've started taking the seed inside at night. We've been putting bird seed out for months and it's only just discovered it, so it took a while. I left some fruit on the fence for it instead, and it absolutely loved that. We've made friends with our neighbours cat. She is quite cute - we know when she's around because she has a little bell on her collar. She explored our house, too. I'm Becoming Minimalist

I've been obsessed with the tiny house movement for a while. I love the idea of taking up small spaces, and only using the space you need. I've designed a few tiny houses now... I've always loved designing houses, but this was new and exciting for me. It's literally something I do for fun. It's a challenge, trying to arrange everything you need in a home so perfectly and in such a tiny space. Challenge accepted. I love the concept of living in a tiny house. I love the idea of saving money on rent or bills, and spending money on travelling instead. I've never been overseas and that's something I hope to do. I actually hope to have a tiny house one day, it's just a matter of what's going on in my life. Tiny houses don't leave any room for unnecessary junk.... or clutter. I love decluttering. There's something satisfying about getting rid of things you don't need. It gives me a sense of freedom. It takes a weight off my shoulders. ...
